DEE BROWN WALKER AWARD

 

            This award was created by Judge Dee Brown Walker, distinguished former District Chairman, to give recognition to those Scouters and non-Scouters who have contributed greatly to the Scouting movement but may not have met the requirements or have the tenure for other awards.

 FRANK H. KIDD AWARD

 

     This award was created by Dr. Frank H. Kidd to recognize annually a medical professional who is either a Scouter or non-Scouter and who has given outstanding service to Scouting. 

     This award was created by Robert M. White to recognize a Boy Scout who exemplifies the Scout Oath, Scout Law and the Scout Motto.  Regular attendance at Scout meetings and advancement in his troop are required. He must be ranked academically in the top twenty-five percent of his class in school.

   This award was created by Mrs. Ruth Wilson to recognize annually an outstanding Cub Scout and Cub Scout leader. The Cub Scout must be Bear rank and have been active in his den and pack for eighteen months, wear uniform to all Cub functions, attend most District functions and have held a Den or Pack Office.

    The Cub leader must have served a minimum of three years as a leader and participated in Roundtables, Day Camp, other district events and Pow Wow.

    This award is given in recognition of long and devoted service by Scouters who have received all of the highest awards given by the District and Council and continue to serve Scouting with devotion.  It is given in memory of all those Scouters who have passed on.

 This award is presented annually to the Scouter who has excelled in training adult unit leaders in the District

EXTRA MILE AWARD

 

    This award is given to an individual who has given an extra effort during the year. The Scouter who receives this award has given his or her "second effort" to make an event a big success.

AWARD OF MERIT

 

     This Council award is given by the District to a Scouter who has rendered noteworthy service to boys.  This service may consist of a single plan or it may have been given to a small group over an extended period of time.  Some of the service should be rendered outside of Scouting.  This is the highest award for service presented to a Scouter by the District.
